Saltwater Fishing and Freshwater Fishing with Capt. Stan on 22' Grady Seafarer!

Fish in The Skeena River to Catch The World's Largest Salmon & Steelhead

Book your next fishing trip with Capt. Stan Doll. Freshwater charters, saltwater charters & ecotours are available. Whether you're a fly fisherman or gear fisherman we can guide you on a fishing experience like no other.

Saltwater Fishing Charter:

The cool waters of the North Pacific are just down the road from Terrace, with some of the best saltwater fishing on the Northern British Columbia coast. Our saltwater excursions are chartered out of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, from May through early September. You’ll find Chinook (kings), Coho (silvers), halibut, lingcod, and both king and Dungeness crabs.

You will be angling from a white, 22′ Grady Seafarer, fully equipped with fishing gear and safety equipment. You can plug herring for Chinook, fly fish for Coho, or go jigging for halibut, lingcod, or bottom fish. At the end of the day, we pull the crab traps and load them up with crabs.

Freshwater Fishing Charter:

The greatest salmon fishing in the world is waiting for you in Terrace, British Columbia. This small city situated on the banks of the Skeena River at the heart of the Skeena region not only offers the largest king salmon in BC but Coho salmon, sockeye salmon, pink salmon, and chum salmon as well. Dolly Varden char, bull trout, and sea-run cutthroat trout are caught frequently in the main stem of the Skeena and in the many tributary rivers only a short distance away.

For the discerning angler, Skeena steelhead is the prime reason for a trip to northern BC. The steelhead fishing guides at Skeena Wilderness are seasoned veterans adept at steelhead fly fishing techniques, as well as the use of drift fishing strategies for the most aggressive and exciting of Canadian game fish.

If you prefer that giant Spring Kings turn the crank of your reel, we will take you to them. If you like to start your heart with a leaping steelhead, we will put you onto the best and wildest in the west. And if that is not enough–and we’ll wager it is–we have northern coho, sockeye, trout, and char for your angling enjoyment.

Our standard charter packages are as good as they get. For the ultimate spring steelhead adventure, Stan can arrange custom helicopter trips into some of the most remote and tightly controlled systems in the province. See isolated areas like the Nass River Valley and the Ishkeenickh and Kincolith areas on the Copper River.

Captain: Stan Doll

Capt. Stan started fishing as a young boy. He obtained his guides license in 1974. With 44 years of guiding experience, he has fished and guided all the rivers on the lower Skeena system plus Nass and coastal rivers. Stan started fly fishing as a young boy and also gear fishes fresh and salt water. If there is a way to fish he loves it.

The second largest country on earth of Canada stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific and all the way to the Arctic Ocean. It’s simply massive. From the Great Lakes region and home to the largest cities like Ottawa and Toronto to the prime fishing territory of Newfoundland all the way to diverse Vancouver, it’s truly packed with so many amazing things to do. Whether you are looking to explore the ocean coasts, go on a lake adventure, or cruise the rivers, there are so many amazing ways to enjoy a boat adventure in Canada. Here are just a few of the highlights.

Go on the Fishing Trip of Your Life. Canada’s Atlantic Coast has long been one of the most popular fishing spots in the world. If you can brace the chilly conditions most of the year—or come during the perfect summer months of June to September—you can reel in an amazing catch of cod, tuna and so much more. You can even try to trap some lobsters. This is a true test of fishing skills. You can likewise numerous great opportunities along the Pacific Coast where salmon is the name of the game!

Discover the Great Outdoors in Banff National Park. Banff National Park is truly a treasure. Located in the Canadian Rockies, this massive park is filled with a huge amount of lakes. It’s truly a bass fisherman’s dream. However, that’s not all you can enjoy hiking and skiing here along with white water rafting and kayaking. Alternatively, you can enjoy a relaxing boat cruise and explore the charming towns that lay along some of the lakes inside the incredible nature reserve. You just might even see a few bears and moose too while you’re there.

Enjoy the Urban Life of Canada. Canada has so many great cities. With your own charter, you can truly experience gems. Each city has its own unique charms. Toronto is well known for the CN Tower and its exciting mixture of activities. Montreal is like its own country with its French history and large collection of castles and natural treasures. These days, few cities are as eclectic and exciting as Vancouver—the perfect place to dive into the rich culinary scene of Canada. So whether you are looking to beat the summer heat, go skiing, enjoy some fishing or soak up the local culture, be sure to head to Canada on your next getaway.
